Line Managers

Every employee at 2i has a Line Manager, their first point of contact for help, guidance and support. And just like all other employees, every Line Manager has a Line Manager.

The Buddy System

It can be confusing and frustrating when you're a new starter. Especially when you are being employed remotely. What seems obvious to all around you, you just don't "get". Here's your buddy, your one stop shop for all those stupid (not stupid at all) questions. And very soon, you can be a Buddy for those who follow.

Coaching

Separate from Line managers and buddies, every employee can request to have a coach, and be trained to become a coach. Whether it's a short term project that you need support with, or longer term general self-development, we'll find a coach who can step in to support you.

Health & Wellbeing

Your health and wellbeing are of utmost importance at 2i, and we have developed a plethora of employee-led clubs and groups to help you bring your whole self to work, and feel included and involved.

You can join the Book group, and the Film and TV group. If you want to get fit, maintain fitness, and support others in their journey, join the Fitness group (there's no judgement here!). If you are more interested in taste and trying new things, than the calorie count or nutritional value, join the Food and Drink group. Or Mindfulness, Music, or the Parenting Group.

For general joining in and getting to know colleagues, we have the Ministry of Fun, and all the events and activities that they organise. And if you can't see the group for you, create your own! You can bet that someone else has been waiting for you to start.

Recruitment

Our robust recruitment process puts candidates through a fair 2-stage process to validate their technical skills and cultural fit. This process is entirely based on the ability to do the job with no place for discrimination on the grounds of sex, race, sexual orientation or disability. All recruiting managers have had equality and diversity in recruitment training.

Process and governance are key pillars of the hiring process, and making the assessment and recruitment process as fair as possible is forefront at every stage. Technical tests are fully automated, coding challenges are anonymised to avoid unconscious bias and interviews are in a standardised format. This ensures a level playing field in the opportunity to get that break.

Governance

We take responsibility for being a fair and equitable employer and actively monitor our progress, including any gender-linked pay gaps.

Our gender pay gap is significantly lower than the national average for our Industry at 3.9% (as we are actively recruiting, this changes regularly, but we are committed to keep it as low as possible). The national average is 8.9% and we have an action plan in place to reduce the gap:

Using structured interviews for recruitment and promotions
Encouraging salary negotiations by showing our career pathway salary ranges
Providing transparency to promotion, pay and reward processes

Home and Hybrid Working

The 2i “Ministry of Fun” is an employee-led, vibrant social committee, organising online and offline activities, such as walks in nature, chats, quizzes, and even (in working hours) online yoga classes.

Our Lunch & Learns enable us to share and expand knowledge beyond day-to-day tasks (what would you teach us?), and we have a plethora of clubs - book, film, food, fitness, mindfulness, parenting, music…
