We are committed to monitoring and reducing our energy consumption as part of our climate action efforts. As climate concerns grow, we are proud to partner with Ecotricity as our energy provider, ensuring that our operations run on 100% renewable energy

What sets them apart is their "Bills into Mills" approach - rather than paying dividends, they reinvest customer payments into developing new sources of green energy. By choosing Ecotricity, we are actively supporting the transition to a more sustainable future.

Measuring Progress

Measuring progress is essential to understand the advancements made towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It provides valuable insights into the effectiveness of our efforts, identifies areas that require further attention, and informs decision-making for future actions.

We have some excellent initiatives and policies in place to progress us along our Net-Zero journey;

  • Electric Car Scheme - employees past the probation period can utilise this scheme to get huge discounts on electric vehicles through a salary sacrifice scheme in partnership with Octopus Energy 🐙
  • Cycle to work scheme - similar to the Electric Car scheme, where employees can see huge discounts on bikes through participating sellers using salary sacrifice 🚲
  • We are proud to partner with Brightwaste, a leading provider of sustainable waste management solutions across the UK. In 2025, our Edinburgh office improved its recycling rate from 33.24% to 38.25%, reducing waste emissions from 7.24 kg to 4.00 kg CO₂e,  a real demonstration of progress in action ♻️

Sustainability Guild

In 2025, we launched our Sustainability Guild to champion environmental initiatives and bring our team together around meaningful ESG action. Here are some of our key achievements:

  • 🌳 Tree Planting Initiative - We partnered with The Future Forest Company to plant 102 native broadleaf trees across the UK, supporting reforestation and biodiversity as part of our journey to Net-Zero.
  • 💻 Partnership with Edinburgh Remakery - We securely recycled and refurbished 19 laptops through their Tech Gifting Programme, putting devices into the hands of families, refugees, school children and charities across Scotland, and saving an estimated 6,700 kg CO₂e in the process.
  • 👗 Circular Fashion Initiative - As part of Second Hand September, we hosted a clothing donation drive at our Edinburgh office, encouraging employees to give pre-loved clothes a second life while supporting local charities and reducing textile waste.

 

Social

At 2i, we are committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive working environment for our team. As part of this commitment, we have collected demographic data to inform the development of our Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) programme, helping us understand our team composition and address any gaps. To drive meaningful change, we have established a Diversity & Inclusion Guild, promoting greater inclusion across the business. Our D&I strategy also continues to champion discussions on cultural awareness, neurodiversity, and gender equality, ensuring that inclusion remains at the heart of our workplace culture.

In 2025, we ran the Great Place to Work Survey for the third consecutive year, and the results speak for themselves:

  • 97% of colleagues reported fair treatment regardless of gender or sexual orientation
  • 96% reported fair treatment regardless of race
  • 96% agreed that our workplace is physically safe

Investing in Our People

At 2i, we believe that taking care of our people is the foundation of everything we do. In 2025, we invested £250,000 in Learning & Development, with training opportunities offered to 100% of our employees — and 91% of colleagues engaging in at least one opportunity, up from 73% the previous year. 📈

Some of our highlights from the year include:

  • The launch of the Consulting Skills Programme, with £72.4k invested and 47 employees completing the programme
  • The relaunch of the Junior Quality Engineer Training Programme
  • The launch of the Change Management Programme, completed by 80% of employees
  • A new Line Manager Induction & Toolkit to support effective leadership across the business
  • Being recognised as one of the Best Workplaces for Development by Great Place to Work 🏆

By creating space for continuous learning, we ensure everyone at 2i feels supported, empowered, and equipped to succeed.

Governance

At 2i, we understand the importance of having clear and consistent policies to guide and support our team. By maintaining robust governance and ensuring policy visibility, we empower our team to work confidently while meeting regulatory and ethical standards

We maintain these high standards through these methods:

  • Ensuring all team members are well-informed through mandatory training. New employees receive comprehensive policy guidance during their induction.
  • A well established review committee who are responsible for keeping policies up-to-date, ensuring they apply across all services while meeting all legislative requirements.
  • All policies are readily accessible through our company intranet
  • Colleagues are alerted and walked through changes whenever policies are updated

In 2025, we also launched our ESG Policy to formally guide our approach to sustainability, ethical practices, and social responsibility, and introduced Policy Awareness Week to help colleagues better understand their governance responsibilities.

Our cybersecurity and data protection practices remain robust, with key certifications maintained including ISO 27001:2022, Cyber Essentials, and Cyber Essentials Plus. We also continue to hold certifications in ISO 9001:2015, ISO 45003:2021, and ISO 42001:2023, reflecting our commitment to quality, safety, and responsible AI management.
