Social impact

2i and the environment

For a company that is almost entirely represented by the colour blue, we are becoming exceptionally green!

Being long time trackers of our carbon emissions, we are achieving carbon reduction goals year-on-year, even after the return to Hybrid working.

Continually pushing the boundaries and making great strides in our goal to becoming a net-neutral company, 2i is committed to achieving Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050 - at an absolute maximum.

We have some excellent initiatives and policies in place to progress us along our Net-Zero journey;

  • Electric Car Scheme - employees past the probation period can utilise this scheme to get huge discounts on electric vehicles through a salary sacrifice scheme in partnership with Octopus Energy 🐙
  • Cycle to work scheme - similar to the Electric Car scheme, where employees can see huge discounts on bikes through participating sellers using salary sacrifice 🚲
  • 2i office locations are powered by 100% green energy 🍃
  • Paper conservation, waste Reduction, and recycling efforts are maintained at a high standard throughout all day-to-day activities at 2i offices.

Our commitment to Net Zero

Carbon reduction plan

2i Connect

Once a year, we gather the whole of #Team2i together to celebrate our successes and share updates. With our company ever-growing, we are committed to mitigating the environmental impact of these meetings.

Some of our carbon reduction strategies in place for this event:

  • All employees are encouraged to use public transport to attend the event.
  • At the end of the event, we will measure the carbon emissions and offset them by planting trees.
  • The event will take place in the most accessible place to reduce the amount of travel required.
  • Choosing a location with excellent sustainability credentials - this would include not using disposable cups and plates, etc, and maximising the use of natural light.
  • Looking at local food sources for lunches and dinners - or more meat-free and vegan options to reduce food miles and meat consumption, or looking for suppliers who use food that would otherwise go to waste.
  • Using apps and digital methods to reduce paper usage.
  • Using our Cycle to Work scheme, we encourage any employees to cycle to the venue if possible.
