2i shortlisted for Growth Through Acquisition at Scotland’s Growth Awards

2i, the UK’s largest quality assurance business, has been shortlisted in the Growth Through Acquisition category at the Growth Awards in Scotland.

The Growth Awards celebrate business growth and the people and teams behind it. The Growth Through Acquisition category focuses on expansion through acquisition, with 2i’s entry outlining the strategy behind its deals and how it has brought the businesses together to create lasting value.

The recognition follows its acquisitions of nFocus and Planit UK, which have expanded the Scottish-headquartered business’s expertise, client base and delivery capability.

Planit UK brought established relationships with major retailers and experience of enterprise systems including SAP and Oracle. The acquisition also strengthened 2i’s offshore capability and supported the development of its delivery centre in Hyderabad.

For both acquisitions, the focus has been on bringing colleagues and operations together, retaining specialist talent and maintaining continuity for clients. Dedicated integration leads have overseen the transition, helping teams align systems and processes and reduce duplication.

The shortlisting follows further recognition of 2i’s commitment to its people. CEO Dave Kelly recently won The People First Award at The LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders Awards 2026, recognising his approach to creating opportunities and recruiting for potential. Since he joined in 2014, 2i has grown from six employees to a business that has created hundreds of jobs.

This focus on people is also reflected in 2i’s wider workplace recognition. In 2026, the business achieved Great Place To Work® certification for the fourth consecutive year and was named among the UK’s Best Workplaces in Tech™ and Best Workplaces for Women™.

Bringing these teams and capabilities together also supports 2i’s wider focus on Quality Intelligence, connecting quality, risk and business outcomes as organisations navigate increasingly complex digital change. The acquisitions have broadened the expertise available to clients, combining specialist knowledge with greater delivery capacity.

Dave Kelly, CEO of 2i, said:

“We’re absolutely delighted to be shortlisted at the Scottish Growth Awards this year for the Growth Through Acquisition award. Acquisitions are events that impact an entire organisation and this is fantastic recognition for the hard work the team undertakes that goes into making them as impactful as they have been.”

The winners will be announced on 29 April 2027 at Kimpton Charlotte Square, Edinburgh.
