2i has been shortlisted in two categories at the UK IT Industry Awards 2026, recognising its continued growth as a Quality Engineering and Assurance partner and its practical application of AI within complex technology environments.
2i is a finalist for:
-
AI Innovation of the Year – SME
-
Services Company of the Year
The AI Innovation of the Year nomination recognises 2i’s work deploying generative AI within a complex UK public sector Quality Assurance and Testing environment.
Using secure large language model technology, 2i has developed solutions to support traditionally manual and knowledge-intensive activities, including test-case generation, CI/CD log analysis and requirements analysis.
AI acts as a first-pass analyst and generator, while experienced Quality Engineers review the outputs, apply context and retain responsibility for decisions. This human-led approach helps teams work more efficiently while maintaining quality, governance and control.
By reducing the time spent on repetitive activities, the technology enables engineers to focus on complex analysis, edge cases and higher-value work requiring human expertise. The solutions have also been designed for reuse, providing a foundation for wider adoption across teams and delivery environments.
Adam Pettman, VP of Innovation and AI at 2i, said:
“Being nominated for AI Innovation of the Year is fantastic recognition of the hard work of our teams. We are using AI to deliver meaningful value for our clients, helping them work more quickly without sacrificing quality. For us, AI is about finding practical ways to improve how work gets done, supporting our people and clients to make better decisions, increase efficiency and maintain control as the pace of change increases. This nomination reflects the progress we have made in turning AI innovation into something that delivers real value, and I am proud of everyone who has contributed to it.”
The Services Company of the Year shortlisting recognises 2i’s wider contribution to its clients, people and the UK technology sector.
Over the past year, 2i has continued to grow its capabilities and support organisations across the public and private sectors. Its teams help clients protect critical services, navigate major transformation programmes and deliver change with greater pace, control and assurance.
2i has also continued to invest in its people, culture and professional development. In 2026, the company achieved Great Place to Work accreditation for the fourth consecutive year, reflecting its commitment to creating an inclusive environment where people can learn, contribute and thrive.
Pauline Smith, Chief Operating Officer at 2i, said:
“We are delighted to be shortlisted for Services Company of the Year at this year’s UK IT Industry Awards. This recognition reflects the dedication and expertise our teams bring to delivering Quality Engineering and Assurance that make a real difference for our clients. Being shortlisted is a testament to the hard work of everyone at 2i and motivates us to continue raising the bar for the clients we serve.
