Some of our esteemed 2i employees took part in the Business Fives charity football event in London. Our goal for the day was to have some fun playing football while raising money for a good cause, Parkinson's UK.

We started the day with a bit of nerves, knowing that we were going up against some strong teams. After losing two games and winning one, we managed to qualify from the group stages and advanced to the Europa League quarter-finals. Though we didn't make it past that stage, we had a great time playing football and supporting a worthwhile cause.

One of the standout performances of the day was Rory, who put on an excellent display in goal. Abdennour also played well and managed to score a goal, while Elliott was unlucky not to have scored, having had a goal ruled out. Matt was fantastic all over the pitch and helped us to play some great football throughout the tournament.

My personal favourite moment of the day was Abdennour’s goal, it came after some nice work by the team to beat the press and encapsulated our performances that day. After the football, there was an opportunity to socialise with a beer and some pizza whilst having a live Q&A session from former Wales and Arsenal striker Jon Hartson.

Overall, we managed to raise just under £280 for Parkinson's UK, whilst in total over £4,041 was raised for various causes, which was a fantastic achievement. We all felt proud to have been able to contribute to such a worthy cause while having some fun with our colleagues.

Participating in the Business Fives charity football event was a fantastic experience, and we hope to do something like this again in the future. It was great to see how sports and social events can bring people together and help to make a positive impact in the world.
