We are very happy to announce that 2i has raised £5,020 for our chosen charity JDRF, a non-profit organisation that funds type 1 diabetes research. JDRF are committed to eradicating type 1 diabetes and its effects for everyone in the UK with type 1, and at risk of developing it.
Type 1 (Juvenile Diabetes) is a form of diabetes where the immune system destroys the insulin producing beta cells in the pancreas.
We would like to thank everyone who donated to the 2i / JDRF Just Giving page and those who took part in the following fundraising events:
- Rough Runner
- Kilt Walk
- Spinathon
- Business Fives
Greg McKenna, a Principal Consultant within 2i Testing:
“As a parent of a child with Type 1 diabetes, I can say the condition is life changing. We are hugely reliant on technology to deliver insulin, take blood sugar readings and help us calculate insulin dosage based on food carbohydrate content and blood sugar levels.
Diabetes is a horrible condition that always needs constant attention to manage it and can significantly impact the long-term health of those who have the condition. As a family we very much appreciate the research work that JDRF do. It leads to better technology that takes more responsibility of managing the condition and hopefully we are closer to Type 1 prevention and hopefully a cure.
We are very grateful to 2i for choosing JDRF to be the nominated charity”.
Elspeth Campbell, Senior Regional Fundraiser for JDRF, came into our Glasgow office recently and was presented with a cheque for £5,020 by Greg McKenna.
