Introducing our Meet the Team Series. In this blog, we introduce you to Katarzyna Kmiotek, a Junior Test Engineer who joined 2i in September 2020.
2i is growing rapidly, building a diverse team of software testing experts, and contributing to Scotland's technical skills development community by working with key organisations like CodeClan.
Katarzyna Kmiotek joined the team in September 2020. Having worked in hospitality for over ten years she had always been keen to explore an entirely new career. She undertook many evening classes at Glasgow University, and then having been introduced to CodeClan, saw the opportunity to move into an exciting technology role, even though she had no previous experience.
The pandemic lockdown actually helped with this move, as Katarzyna utilized the time to devote herself to study and also to online conference networking so she could connect with potential job opportunities.
Katarzyna was attracted to 2i by the broad range of modern technologies they work with, and that as a consultant she would be working across a stimulating mix of different client engagements.
Even though she joined during the pandemic and has worked remotely from day one, Katarzyna has still found the experience to be inclusive and welcoming, immediately feeling like a member of a supportive family, a team of experts who she can call upon for help if needed.
